It is with great pleasure that I bring to you today’s Special Guest Dreamer The GREAT Dennis Emahiser!

I first had the pleasure of meeting Dennis On Facebook about a year ago. We share some communications back and fourth between us and have some awesome mutual friends.

About a month ago, we connected and shared our stories and dreams with each other.

Dennis made an important decision on January 1st, 2008 that took him on a journey of transformation that lead to a more fulfilling life.

Now after over 3 years, he is on a mission to empower and support others to do what he has done.

Please join me in celebrating Dennis as he shares his story, passion and dream with us today.

The GREAT Dennis Emahiser – Share Your DREAM Friday

I would like to thank Edward Elliott for allowing me to share my dream on “Share Your Dream Friday”. Edward is one of the most genuine people I’ve been able to speak with, and he shares a common passion that I have.

My dream isn’t to have a have a fancy house or car, although a BMW would be nice, but it’s not my priority. I was always into sports and athletics, and I even went to college for Media Production / Broadcasting. It wasn’t until January 1, 2008 that my life would take a 360-degree turn. I never envisioned that January would change my life and mold me into the person that I am today.

The week prior to January 1st, 2008, I went to see my doctor, I got up on the scale and felt embarrassed to read my weight as 265 lbs. I’ve never been that heavy in my life. I knew I was a big guy, and I knew that I needed to make a change. Fast-forwarding one week later to January 1st 2008, I was watching a weight loss promo for a popular show – I made the commitment to change my life.

At 265 lbs. I got on an eating regiment and started doing interval training. My target goal was to lose 30 lbs and weigh 235. Heck, I wanted to successfully lose 10 lbs and be able to keep it off. I lost 20 lbs in college but I gained it back and a little more. Anyway, I was able to drop 30 lbs in 2 months. In 5 months, I dropped 50 lbs. and was at 214 lbs. I hit a plateau for a month but then was able to lose another 20 pounds and get down to 195 lbs. I stayed at 195 until the end of January 2009. I was able to change up a couple things and I’m now at 180 lbs., a loss of 85 lbs. More importantly, that weight loss has been maintained for going on 4 years.

That changed my life because my new found passion is weight loss / fitness, and I get to coach and inspire others to make a positive change. I’ve been able to help friends and family members get the motivation to take action and have great results too. I’ve been able to help quite a few people change their lives. I’ve been doing a 90 health challenge through Visalus and it’s awesome because I’m able to focus and help people achieve their goals.

For me, I know my calling is help thousands and thousands of people, and I want to help people instill the mindset that goes along with losing weight. It’s a physical and psychological transformation and is something I’ve been able to grasp and keep it in check. This nation is at a crossroads and obesity has passed cancer for the number one killer in North America. I don’t want my family members and friends to become a victim to this growing statistic.

I will do everything in my power to help end this epidemic. Eventually, I would like to speak at seminars and conventions across the world about what I went through emotionally and physically so people can break the barriers of obesity. My goal is simple : help thousands and thousands of people across the world because it will help “end the trend of obesity”. I can’t do it myself, but I may die trying.

This may not affect you, but I’m sure you know a few that it does, and I just want to help. Let’s connect on Facebook, Twitter.

Again, I want to thank Edward Elliott for allowing me to share my dream with all of you.

Thanks so much Dennis, for sharing your story and dream with us today.
